Decera Clinical Education, its team members, and partners earned multiple program awards and individual honors at the 2026 Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP) Awards. These recognitions celebrate their innovation, rigor, and commitment to closing the evidence-to-clinical action gap to deliver meaningful improvement in healthcare outcomes.
The ten awards honored the work of eleven team members and four partner organizations, recognizing individual contributions and programs designed to integrate innovative educational design that enhances learning, improves healthcare professional performance, and promotes practice change.
The award-winning programs included:
- Outstanding Educational Collaboration: Taking It to the Streets: Hepatitis C Screening and Care Beyond the Specialty Clinic. Working alongside the Street Medicine Institute and Circle the City, Decera Clinical Education team members Jeanne Forrester, Jenny Schulz, and Manav Patel helped pilot a simplified hepatitis C screening and treatment protocol in a mobile street medicine clinic. Supported by an independent grant from Gilead Sciences, Inc., the initiative trained and mentored care teams to begin treatment directly in the field while successfully tracking screening, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes.
- Excellence in Educational Design: Do CME Presentations Impact Physician Performance? In collaboration with Baylor Scott & White Health members Penny Coots, Wendy Hegefeld, Cheryl Massar, Jason Ramm, and Judy Embry, Decera Clinical Education team members Leen Alyaseen, Carley Yawn, and Sarah Nisly developed a data-driven, guideline-aligned CME initiative. The program used electronic health record metrics to evaluate opioid prescribing outcomes and demonstrated a clear, measurable increase in clinician intent to change.
- Outstanding Outcomes in CE: Cumulative Cognition: Strengthening Learning with Progressive Content Delivery. Decera Clinical Education team members Carley Yawn, Sarah Nisly, Krista Marcello, and Logan Van Ravenswaay developed a sophisticated outcomes assessment approach that showed serial learning and repeated exposure to educational content can produce sustainable, long-term knowledge gains.
